Now that my Christmas rush is over…I’ve found myself with a lot more free time. I’m not gonna lie…I’m loving it! My shop remains closed and as of right now…I have no plans to immediately re open it. I’m taking a break from mass order taking and focusing more on my babes and a little more blogging. I’m also slowly tackling the disorganized mess my house has become. Purging, repurposing, donating, or trashing is the game!
Apparently I have hoarder tendencies… because I found a stash of paper grocery bags. Who knows what my plans were for them…but today, I orchestrated what I call a “busy” craft for the girls. Something to hold their attention for more than 5 minutes.

Have you ever heard of smashbooking? It’s all the craze right now. Remember those scrapbooks you used to put together back in the day…the kind where you shoved receipts..tickets…bottle caps?? It’s an anything goes “scrapbook” to record life moments and memories. I put one together today…and I love it!!…

When I started thinking what I wanted to do for Jackson’s class treats this year, I knew I wanted it to be something different. Because, this is my super busy season…I needed something relatively easy to make and put together. So… I came up with these mini popcorn treats. I designed them to resemble a microwave bag of popcorn, on a smaller scale…and much cuter.

My sister gave Savannah this stroller from The Land of Nod a couple of Christmas’s ago. She loves it! I love it, because it’s wood and not plastic. It has held it’s own against my kids…but, the fabric seat was starting to show signs of wear. So today…I decided to sew a replacement seat. It was super easy…beginning sewing. The most difficult part would be the zig zag appliqué. Lucky for you…I have a two part tutorial on that also.

I came across these metal stencils at Michaels a while ago…and I just knew they would make the coolest piece of wall art. For $1 a piece..I bought one of every letter they had and quickly started my aging process.

Since I got several requests about how I did my paintbrush invites, I decided to do a quick tutorial for anyone interested….

I was FINALLY able to complete part two of the appliqué series. Sorry it took so long…but, I wanted to make sure I covered everything….and it made sense.
I’ve been doing machine appliqué for a few years now. I absolutely love it! I started out with an embroidery machine, but wanted the freedom of my own designs. So, I researched, learned, and practiced my way to where I’m at now.

My kids absolutely love their Carolina Craft Table from Pottery Barn Kids. Not only does it look good, but the art paper roll attachment is awesome! Whenever they’re in the mood for drawing…just unroll, color/draw, tear off or roll back up. Well…I had this idea of doing a chalk cloth roll for the table. I just needed the empty paper roll to get started. They finally finished one yesterday, so it was time to put my little idea to the test….
