Now that my Christmas rush is over…I’ve found myself with a lot more free time. I’m not gonna lie…I’m loving it! My shop remains closed and as of right now…I have no plans to immediately re open it. I’m taking a break from mass order taking and focusing more on my babes and a little more blogging. I’m also slowly tackling the disorganized mess my house has become. Purging, repurposing, donating, or trashing is the game!
Apparently I have hoarder tendencies… because I found a stash of paper grocery bags. Who knows what my plans were for them…but today, I orchestrated what I call a “busy” craft for the girls. Something to hold their attention for more than 5 minutes.
This is so simple…it almost doesn’t require a tutorial…but here goes…
Supplies I used:
Paper grocery bags
Acrylic paints
Paintbrushes
Scissors
Paper heart punch {found at OfficeMax on clearance for $4.99}
Twine
Glue stick
I let Savannah pick out some Valentine colored paints and armed them both with paintbrushes. I told them to paint whatever they wanted.
After the bags had dried…I cut them into 1.5 inch strips…then Savannah punched the paper hearts. We got all sorts of cool designs from their artwork.
Working in 2 – 3 inch sections…glide your glue stick across the twine…secure paper hearts, leaving about 1/4 – 1/2 inch between them. That’s it…simple! Bonus for being on the cheap! Also, this can be used for any holiday…just switch out the paints and the paper punch.
I strung theirs in our chandelier above the breakfast table. I just “heart” it! Some other ways to use this: gift wrapping…framing…cardmaking…smashbooking.
Enjoy!!
