My kids love to draw. I get multiple drawings from them per day. Obviously, I can’t keep them all. I already have bags of school artwork waiting to be transformed into a photo book. Typically, I’ll keep their drawings for a week or so..then I secretly throw them away. Or…I get busted by my 5 year old. However, I do keep my favorites. I’ve been wanting to turn some of their drawings into appliqués for a project I’m working on. So…I thought nothing of it, when I grabbed this little horse/donkey hybrid {horskey} from Jackson’s wall to start my project.

Tshirt smashbook….
Have you ever heard of smashbooking? It’s all the craze right now. Remember those scrapbooks you used to put together back in the day…the kind where you shoved receipts..tickets…bottle caps?? It’s an anything goes “scrapbook” to record life moments and memories. I put one together today…and I love it!!…
The Land of Nod stroller seat tutorial…
My sister gave Savannah this stroller from The Land of Nod a couple of Christmas’s ago. She loves it! I love it, because it’s wood and not plastic. It has held it’s own against my kids…but, the fabric seat was starting to show signs of wear. So today…I decided to sew a replacement seat. It was super easy…beginning sewing. The most difficult part would be the zig zag appliqué. Lucky for you…I have a two part tutorial on that also.
Appliqué Tutorial: Part Two

I was FINALLY able to complete part two of the appliqué series. Sorry it took so long…but, I wanted to make sure I covered everything….and it made sense.
I’ve been doing machine appliqué for a few years now. I absolutely love it! I started out with an embroidery machine, but wanted the freedom of my own designs. So, I researched, learned, and practiced my way to where I’m at now.

Appliqué Tutorial: Part One

If ever there were a day I was going to lock myself in a room with a jar of Nutella and a shovel, it would have been yesterday. The fights, there were many.
