My kids love to draw. I get multiple drawings from them per day. Obviously, I can’t keep them all. I already have bags of school artwork waiting to be transformed into a photo book. Typically, I’ll keep their drawings for a week or so..then I secretly throw them away. Or…I get busted by my 5 year old. However, I do keep my favorites. I’ve been wanting to turn some of their drawings into appliqués for a project I’m working on. So…I thought nothing of it, when I grabbed this little horse/donkey hybrid {horskey} from Jackson’s wall to start my project.
After I had painstakingly scanned, cut, traced, and prepared my appliqué…I held it up to show my husband.
Me: look…how stinkin’ cute!
Chris: um…yeah…I actually drew that.
Me: what? are you kidding me?
Chris: {laughing} no…I drew it.
Me: {slightly disguntled} oh perfect! so….you draw like a caveman?
ACK!! I couldn’t use it for the project I intended…but, I didn’t want to throw it out.
So…I did this instead…a little horskey hoodie for Annabelle. I embellished him and added a saddle. I actually kind of love it…there’s something very charming about it’s primitiveness.
