Last year on Christmas Eve, we started the tradition of sprinkling magical reindeer food on the lawn. The story goes, that the glitter sparkles in the moonlight and helps Santa locate your house. The oats are there to feed the reindeer while Santa is creeping in your house. My kids were totally into it. This year, I thought, instead of just putting the food in a plastic bag, I would make these little pouches for them to tear into and sprinkle away.
Gather your supplies:
Reindeer food (oats and glitter)
White paper
Kraft paper
Scissors
Black and Pink (or red) Sharpies
Glue stick
Instructions:
Freehand cut antlers from the brown kraft paper and set aside.
Cut rectangles of varying size from the white paper.
Add glue to one short side and one long side of the rectangle.
Fold inward to the middle, firmly press the top to secure closure.
Fill with reindeer food.
Add glue to the inside bottom and press to close in a triangle formation.
Color in eyes and a nose with the Sharpies.
Glue antlers to the top.
When you’re ready, tear open and cover the lawn in magical reindeer food.

These would also be fun to hand out to friends or favors at a Christmas party!
