Thought Bubble Cookies
A while back I thought..”how fun would it be to make thought bubble cookies and have the kids draw on them?”…yes I really did think that! All I needed was a thought bubble cookie cutter. I couldn’t find one…so I shelved the idea…until..
I started thinking of ways I could make one by repurposing a cutter I already own. Sugarbelle does this all the time. She is like the Magyver of cookie cutters. She cuts and pieces and does all kinds of magic cookie stuff. She even did a thought bubble here. For me…it had to be something I didn’t have to piece or hand cut…my cookie skills aren’t that good. So there I was staring at at a box of cookie cutters above my refrigerator. On the side….it has pictures of all the cutters. One in particular caught my eye…the pumpkin! Of course…turn it upside down…instant thought bubble!!! I used a large and a medium. I also stretched out an old mini metal pear cookie cutter. It worked perfect for the small thought bubble.
I baked up a batch…iced them…and left them to dry overnight. Now…this is where the real fun begins! I handed out the cookies and armed my children with food writer markers. Write or draw what’s in your thoughts. Just have fun! I put a few of the small ones on sticks and even tucked some in Jackson’s lunch.
I think we are going to send some to family and friends with a little “Just thought bubbling about you!” or “You’re in my thought bubbles!” tag…They don’t have to be perfect…it’s the thought bubble that counts…hahaha!
