These little packets of bunny food make great little class treats!
Orange and vibrant green candy melts
Dipping pretzel sticks
Oreos
Packaging materials {pretzel bags, twine, freebie printable}
Glass or mason jar for melting
Toothpick
Shortening (use approximately 1 tsp to thin candy melts. Don’t use water!)
Instructions:
Melt orange candies and dip 3/4 of pretzel in the jar.
Add shortening as needed. I like to add about 1 tsp to thin it out a bit.
Set aside on parchment paper to dry.
Melt green candies and dip the remaining uncovered part of the pretzel.
Set aside to dry.
Using a toothpick, press gently into the orange candy to form 3 carrot wrinkles.
Grind up oreos (filling and all) in your food processor.
Add oreo dirt and three carrot pretzels to a bag.
Tie off with some twine and the freebie printable.

April 5, 2015 at 7:01 pmI’m not sure what went wrong? When I dip the pretzel stick into the melted candy it comes out clean??? I’m using snyder’s of hanover pretzel rods from Michael’s. I tried thinning the melts a bit more with butter but it just isn’t working? Not sure what I’m doing wrong??? Any help would be so appreciated. Thanks!

April 5, 2015 at 8:14 pmAre you using butter or shortening? If it is butter, that could be the reason why it’s not sticking. I hope you’re able to get it to work!

January 13, 2014 at 10:30 pmBut Oreo has the cream fillings. I don’t see it in yours. Did you remove the cream fillings first then ground them?
krisha
January 13, 2014 at 11:32 pmNo…just grind them up in your food processor and they will come out looking like the picture. đ

April 10, 2014 at 9:21 amI use Oreo Pie Crusts when I need the nice cookie crumble in desserts without the cream mess or stickiness. Just place pie crusts in a bag and squeeze đ

March 4, 2014 at 8:00 amSo cute! Might be silly question, but do you just microwave the candy to melt in mason jar?
krisha
March 4, 2014 at 10:31 amHi, yes you absolutely can. I do it in 60 second increments so not to scorch it.

March 16, 2014 at 6:13 amI’m confused, when do you add the shortening, before or after you dip the pretzel?
krisha
March 16, 2014 at 7:34 amBefore. You add the shortening if you need to thin out the candy after you have melted it. Just add a little at a time, until you have the right consistency.

March 30, 2014 at 1:15 pmSo cute! Do you use regular small pretzel sticks, or is there a kind made especially for dipping? If so, where do I get them? Thanks!
