One of my biggest obstacles in homeschooling, has been keeping Annie busy while I teach my older two babes. Here’s the deal with Annabelle. She is insanely loud. Like ridiculous loud. It’s impossible to concentrate with the amount of noise this tiny person produces. Also, we have wood floors throughout our house and nothing to absorb her sweet, but obnoxiously loud voice. So there’s that. I’ll probably start including her in more of the lessons next year. But, since this was my rookie year, I didn’t want to take on too much.
One of the things she loves most to do, is color. It’s so quiet when she colors. So much so, that I never really take notice. Today, while Jacks was doing his math and Savannah was watching puppy videos (that’s another story) on my computer, I grabbed my camera and watched her color.
I don’t think there’s a day that passes me by where I don’t think to myself…It’s passing me by.
So often I forget to take in these little things. And isn’t this the beauty of having my kids at home with me? It’s all around me and I still get caught up in the day to day…ignoring what’s right in before me.
Watching her, I remembered a quote I read a while back… Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things. – Robert Brault. So true.
