Hippity, Hoppity Easter’s on it’s way! I freaking love this cake! It was the easiest thing in the world to make. It’s just a cake baked in a bowl, turned upside down. Yep, that’s it.
Gather your supplies:
A small to medium Pyrex bowl
Cooking spray
Ingredients for your favorite cake
Buttercream frosting
Orange gel food coloring
Edible Easter grass
Offset spatula
Instructions:
Preheat your oven according to your cake’s recipe.
Coat your bowl generously with cooking spray.
Mix cake ingredients and bake according to directions. (I had to add an extra 20 minutes in 10 minute increments to avoid burning)
Remove from oven and allow to cool in bowl.
Once cooled, flip bowl over to remove cake.
Allow cake to cool once more.
With a serrated knife, gently level off the top of the cake.
Set aside the excess cake you removed for later.
Position cake on a cake plate and begin frosting with your offset spatula.
After frosting, take the excess cake from earlier and crumble into a dirt consistency.
Carefully add the dirt cake around the perimeter of the carrot top.
Finally, cut various lengths of the Easter grass and insert in the top of the carrot.
