Lately, I’ve been trying to expand my Netflix horizons beyond the TV series. I never watch regular TV, so I can easily get wrapped up in these series on Netflix. Currently, I’m deep into 24. The series that has no end in the foreseeable future. OMG! Seriously, how did anyone watch this show live? I’ve missed countless episodes..but, it’s like I haven’t missed one.
Jack: Mr. President this is Jack Bauer.
POTUS: Put me through to Jack Bauer.
Jack: Jack Bauer, Mr. President.
POTUS: Jack, it’s David Palmer. Or Charles Logan. Or Wayne Palmer.
Jack: Yes Mr. President.
POTUS: Hi, I’m Mr. President.
Jack: Thank you Mr. President.
Yep…that pretty much sums it up! I’m convinced Jack becomes the POTUS in the last season. Don’t tell me. So, to break up the monotony of Jack and the POTUS, last night I watched The Shunning. I don’t want to give too much of the story away, but it’s about an Amish girl and a shunning. Let me just tell you, Amish people mean business. Don’t even think you are going to leave your husband to be at the altar and then try to go buy thread at the Amish store. Will. Not. Happen. You just got shunned! So, that got me thinking. Perhaps this is a useful tool I could use in my house? For example, my husband is constantly leaving medicine on top of the medicine cabinet. Not in it. Nope. On top of it. You just got shunned! Dirty clothes on top of the closed hamper, on the floor next to the hamper, but not in the hamper?
Yeah…you done got shunned!
Speaking of Amish thread, I started and finished a sewing project today. I picked up this ruffled tank dress for Savannah at The Gap Outlet for under $10. I love these kinds of dresses, because you can layer them over a long tee, short tee, shorts, leggings, jeans, or just wear as is. But, it was a little too drab for my liking, so I hooked it up with a giant 4 appliqué! Check out my two part series here and here for help getting started in appliqué.
